DESCRIPTION:  \n \nThe AlphaFold Workshop Uganda 2025\, held June 16 to 20 at IDI\, Makerere University\, brought together researchers from Uganda\, Kenya\, Tanzania\, and Rwanda. Hosted by ACE-Uganda with support from Google DeepMind\, the event focused on AlphaFold’s role in protein structure prediction. Participants gained hands-on skills for research in drug discovery and immunotherapy. The workshop fostered regional collaboration in bioinformatics and data science. ACE-Uganda continues to champion innovation for better health outcomes in Africa.

It supports advanced bioinformatics\, data science research\, immersive data visualization through virtual reality\, and contributes significantly to training efforts through MSc and PhD programs\, internships\, and short courses in bioinformatics and data science. \nThis infrastructure marks a significant step forward in transforming health research on the continent\, creating a robust platform for deploying specialized tools and fostering collaboration across African research institutions.
