Ezinga Richard

PHD Fellow

Richard is an enthusiastic biomedical scientist serving in the lecturing capacity at Mbarara University of Science and Technology's Biochemistry department. He has a deep passion for understanding the molecular basis of disease and cancer genomics, with his research centered on unraveling the complexities of cancer at the transcriptomic level.

Currently, Richard is a PhD fellow in Bioinformatics at Makerere University, where his work focuses on analyzing large scale RNA Seq data to investigate gene expression dynamics, immune microenvironment interactions, and key molecular pathways that drive tumor progression, particularly in Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in Uganda. By integrating computational biology and advanced bioinformatics techniques, he aims to identify novel biomarkers and therapeutics that may inform precision medicine strategies, especially within African populations.

Beyond research, he is dedicated to nurturing students and advancing biomedical education, fostering a new generation of scientists equipped with bioinformatics expertise to tackle pressing health challenges in resource limited settings like Uganda.
