vMERGE (Virtual Reality in Education) : Tailoring and Scaling Virtual Reality Technology for Emergency Care in Uganda funded by Makerere Research and Innovation Fund (RIF) – Jan-23 to June-23
vMERGE addresses the rising road accident fatalities in Uganda by training first responders in Basic Life Saving (BLS) skills through virtual reality (VR) simulations. VR provides realistic training environments for BLS procedures, with modules specifically designed for Ugandan responders.
vMERGE aims to save lives and enhance Ugandan healthcare by improving BLS skills and expanding the pool of trained responders. The project also plans to develop affordable, locally-made VR headsets to increase accessibility.
