The Big Data Interest Group(BIG);

  • Raises awareness within the regional research community on the potential applications of computational technology
  • Generates interest in data sciences and creates pools of interested scientists across a variety of disciplines.
  • The BIG develops links with other networks with similar interests such as the H3Africa consortium, the East African Network for Bioinformatics Training(EANBIT)
  • Creates a platform where scientists can come together and discuss Data Science, Bioinformatics, Artificial Intelligence, and Genomics related work
