The ACE is happy to have hosted a short training “Practical Bioinformatics – A workshop on Identifying Rewarding Bioinformatics Research Approaches within Constraints” by Associate Professor Ryan Raaum from the Department of Anthropology, Lehman College.

The course that was organised by Dan Isabirye from the College of Natural Sciences ran from 24th to 25th July 2019.

The aims of the workshop were to:

  1. Provide an overview of bioinformatics applications and research areas
  2. Provide an overview of freely available bioinformatics and genomic resources on the internet
  3. Provide examples of how to use some of these freely available resources
  4. Discuss how attendees might integrate bioinformatics approaches in their research
